BMW Develops Primary Light Laser Tech |
When other automotive manufacturers continue to develop and refine the technology Light Emitting Diode (LED) to be used as vehicle headlights, BMW has been a step forward. German car manufacturer is developing laser-based lighting systems.
This system relies on a series of laser diodes to create a beam of energy that is converted into visible light generated by the fluorescent phosphor material. This technology is believed to be able to present better lighting than traditional LEDs.
Because the laser system is capable of producing bright light that reaches 170 lumens compared to only 100 lumens LED but with a more efficient energy consumption.
If development goes according to plan early, this laser-tech lamps can be realized in production vehicles within the next few years. We'll wait. CAR NEWS.
